I hope that over the course of the year, your child will come to know God's incredible love for her or him and in response to that love, will want to use their gifts in service to God. But in any case, just as your child may have made a commitment to a team or club, through our baptism we have all made a commitment to "God's team," our parish.
Ministers serve an important role in our worship. Through this workshop, your child will come to a better understanding of that role and how they can make the worship experience better for all of us. And both ministries can deepen your child’s own relationship with God.
Being a lector is more than just reading words on a page; it is proclaiming God's Word in a way that allows us to be moved and transformed.
Being a minister of hospitality is more than just handing out bulletins and taking up a collection; it is being a welcoming presence who helps each person walking into the church feel that the worship experience will be better because they chose to attend.
The ministry workshop is more than just "training" on how to do a specific task. It is part of a formation process that will help them to better understand who they are as a disciple and what we do when we gather for worship. Just as your child would not be allowed to play a sports game without the required number of practices, it is imperative that your child attend this workshop before they serve in their ministry at liturgy.
